After completing a full 90 minutes against MK Dons on Friday night, winger Demarai Gray says he was thrilled to be back on the pitch for Leicester City.-
Demarai Gray says he enjoyed his return to action after completing a full game against MK Dons on Friday- Gray made his first appearance of pre-season following an extended summer break- The wideman hopes to be involved again prior to the new Premier League campaignHaving represented England Under-21s at the U21 European Championships after the 2016/17 campaign came to an end, Gray was given an extended summer break along with fellow Fox Ben Chilwell. The former Birmingham City man, 21, came just inches away from finding the net on his return to the City line-up and looked a significant threat from both wings throughout. Gray told LCFC TV after the game: “It’s pre-season so the game was a bit scrappy at times and that’s what it’s about. “We’ve got to get the rustiness out our system, but most importantly we’re getting the minutes in the tank. The season’s two weeks away, so a few more games and everyone will be looking good.

Robbie Neilson’s men tested the Foxes, who had chances to win the game, but also had to do some defending of their own. Gray added: “MK Dons played good football at times and that really tested us. We have to change a few tactics at times and they had us running around.“That’s to be expected and they put on a good performance so it’s good to play teams like that.“The level of quality will go up – we’ll be playing Premier League football against shortly so the better standard of opposition, the better for us.”
